Good value for a new MSP

As a new MSP, I was really looking for the best deal. I specifically asked about a startup discount for NinjaOne's Remote Monitoring and Management. The account manager was helpful and we ended up getting a decent annual billing discount. It felt like a good investment for the features provided, especially compared to some competitors. Saved some money by committing annually.

Comprehensive platform experience

I recently migrated our IT operations to NinjaOne, focusing on their Endpoint Management and IT Automation capabilities. The onboarding process was thorough; their team walked us through the initial setup, ensuring all our workstations and servers were correctly integrated. Their scripting engine proved to be incredibly powerful for automating routine tasks, and the remote access feature was stable and responsive. We also started using the Service Desk, which integrated smoothly with our existing workflows. My only minor feedback is that while the documentation is extensive, some of the more advanced API functionalities could use additional practical examples for faster implementation. Overall, it's a robust solution that has definitely streamlined our daily operations.

Good RMM, minor quibbles

I signed up for the 14-day trial of NinjaOne to test their RMM and Patch Management features. The setup was pretty straightforward, and the interface is much cleaner than what I'm used to. Patching Windows devices worked really well, and the reporting was useful. The sales team was responsive when I requested a demo, but it took a little longer than expected to get a definitive quote for our specific number of endpoints. I appreciate the functionality, but better clarity on pricing structure up front would be a nice improvement.

Does NinjaOne support macOS and Linux devices for management, or is it mostly Windows-focused?

S Sandra Phillips 1 month ago
They definitely support macOS. We manage a bunch of Mac workstations with it, works fine. Not sure about Linux though, haven't personally used it for that.

Yep, it does both Mac and Linux patching and monitoring. Not just Windows. That was a big plus for us when we were comparing RMMs.

How long does the free trial last? Want to kick the tires properly before committing.

A Alex Lewis 2 weeks ago
Pretty sure it's a 14-day trial. Enough time to get a feel for it but you'll want to jump in pretty quick.

S Sandra Gomez 2 weeks ago
Yeah, 14 days is standard. Best to have a plan for what you want to test before you start the trial to make the most of it.

Hey, wondering about pricing structure. Is it like per tech or based on how many devices we manage with it?

J Justin 6 hours ago
From what I remember during our demo, it's definitely per endpoint. They don't charge per technician, which is nice for growing teams.

S Sandra H. 6 hours ago
Yeah, it's per endpoint. I think there's a minimum count too, like you can't just buy it for 5 machines. Worth asking their sales about your specific needs.

I heard they have a Black Friday sale sometimes for new customers. Is that a thing?

S Steven P. 3 days ago
Yeah, they usually do something around Black Friday/Cyber Monday. SaaS companies often have sales then. Keep an eye out closer to November.

I think I saw an ad for a Black Friday deal last year. It's usually a good time to get a better rate if you're planning to sign up anyway.

Can I pay monthly, or do they force you into an annual contract?

B Brandon 2 weeks ago
I think they prefer annual, and you usually get a discount for it. But I'm pretty sure monthly billing is an option if you need it, though it might cost a bit more.

T Thomas M. 2 weeks ago
We do annual billing because it's cheaper. I vaguely recall them mentioning monthly as an option during our sales calls, but we never seriously considered it.

Anyone switch from ConnectWise to NinjaOne? Was it a pain to migrate everything over?

M Michelle Harris 3 weeks ago
We switched from Automate a few months back. It wasn't too bad honestly. Their onboarding team was pretty helpful with getting agents deployed and data moved. Not entirely painless but better than I expected.

S Susan Garcia 3 weeks ago
Yeah, I hear they have a pretty good deal if you're coming over from ConnectWise or Kaseya. Might be worth checking into that, could help with the migration cost if nothing else.

Are there any promo codes floating around for a new subscription? Trying to get the best deal.

P Paul A. 1 month ago
Nah, I don't think they do promo codes like a regular online store. You usually have to talk to their sales team for any discounts. It's more of a quote-based thing.

A Amber Gonzalez 1 month ago
Yeah, what the other person said. We got a discount for going annual, but it was all handled by our account rep. No coupon box or anything.
